Charging your BEV at Home

Installing a dedicated Level 2 charging station at your residence can be a practical and convenient solution for electric vehicle owners. Level 2 chargers operate on a 240-volt outlet, similar to the power supply used by major household appliances such as an electric range or HVAC equipment, and can significantly reduce charging times compared to a standard household outlet.

Before installation, several important considerations should be reviewed, including the optimal mounting location, connector type, cable length, whether a permanent or portable unit is preferred, and the appropriate amperage for your home’s electrical capacity. We recommend consulting a certified electrician or qualified installer to assess your property, confirm electrical requirements, select the correct plug configuration, and provide an estimate of installation costs.

Please note that all Toyota battery electric vehicles (BEV) beginning with the 2026 model year include a dual-voltage charging cable, allowing for Level 1 charging from a standard household outlet when a Level 2 charger is not available
