Limited 4WD models feature a standard Smart Key System. The Key Fob is a transponder that signals the vehicle when the driver is near and prepares the vehicle for opening. When the driver touches the door handle, a change in electrical frequency causes the doors to open. The key never needs to leave pocket or purse.

RAV4 belongs in a league of its own. With almost as much cargo room as an Intermediate SUV, 2nd row seats that fold flat, and available 3rd row seating, there's absolutely nothing compact about this vehicle. Whether you're hauling people or cargo RAV4 just out-and-out performs.

The Front Driver Seat is a fully cushioned Bucket Seat with a high seat back and easy height adjustment. Standard on Limited 4WD models and available on Sport 4WD models is an 8-Way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat. Also available on certain models, Leather Seat Surfaces along with Heated Driver Seat and Heated Front Passenger Seat.

Second Row Seats sit three in comfort. They also split 60:40, slide, recline and fold flat to create a completely flat cargo deck. Remote Fold-Down, using the lever on the side of the rear deck, makes under floor storage of the seats as easy as flicking a wrist.

Available on RAV4 Base V6 4WD are Split and Stow Third Row Seats that comfortably seat two additional passengers. Seats can also be stored flat under the floor to create additional cargo room as required.

RAV4's array of standard interior features include: Optitron Gauges, Cruise Control, Remote Keyless Entry, Fuel Economy Meter, 10 Bottle-Cup Holders, Power Windows and Door Locks, Three 12-Volt Auxiliary Power Outlets, and a Tilt and Telescopic Steering Wheel.

RAV4 Base 4WD and Sport 4WD models feature a standard AM/FM/CD with MP3/WMA Player, Audio Auxilliary Jack, Auto Sound Levelizer, 6-Speakers and Roof Mounted Antenna. Limited models add an In-Dash 6-Disc CD Changer, Steering Wheel Audio Controls, Roof Mounted Antenna and XM Satellite Radio (Factory Installed). Limited V6 also offers an available Premium JBL System with 9-Speakers.

All models now boast a Steering Wheel 'DISP Switch' to enable fingertip cycling through the dash-mounted Information Display. Sport 4WD and Limited 4WD models add to the refined interior with an Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror with Integrated Backup Camera. Sport models also add a Power Moonroof with Sunshade.

The same transponder that activates the door locks lets the vehicle know when the driver is behind the wheel. At that point, all that's required to get the engine running is to depress the brake pedal and push the Start Button on the control panel.

RAV4's new 2.5-Litre 4-Cylinder engines delivers 179 Horsepower and churns out 173 lb. ft. of Torque. Equipped with Dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence and an Acoustic Control Induction System, this engine delivers power and efficiency. In fact, with a combined City/Highway fuel consumption rating of 8.6 L/100km, the 2.5-Litre RAV is one of the most fuel conscious vehicles in its class.

4-Cylinder models feature a Gated-Shift 4-Speed Automatic while V6 models sport a Gated-Shift 5-Speed Automatic. All models feature Super ECT [Electronically Controlled Transaxle] which automatically manages shift decisions based on engine speed and load for seamless shift performance and the significant reduction of gear-hunting on uphill and downhill grades.

4-Cylinder models feature a Gated-Shift 4-Speed Automatic while V6 models sport a Gated-Shift 5-Speed Automatic. All models feature Super ECT [Electronically Controlled Transaxle] which automatically manages shift decisions based on engine speed and load for seamless shift performance and the significant reduction of gear-hunting on uphill and downhill grades.

All models are equipped with Toyota's state-of-the-art Dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence which continuously alters both intake and exhaust valve timing. The result is more complete burning of gases for greater engine performance and lower emissions no matter what the engine speed or load.

RAV4's Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) increases the amount of air entering the engine by optimizing the length of the intake manifold – effectively enabling the engine to breath more deeply. The result is an increase in power and torque whenever the engine needs it most.

Mean streets. Steep grades. Sharp curves. Nasty weather. No matter what the stage, RAV4 performs. In fact, with its extended platform underneath and impressive array of advanced technology connecting driver to road – including Electronic Power Steering, Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, Anti-Lock Brakes and Active Torque Control 4-Wheel Drive – RAV4 is more than willing to go where others fear to tread.

Front suspension utilizes finely tuned MacPherson struts to improve roll rigidity and linear steering feel.

The rear suspension is an exclusively designed trailing type double wishbone suspension; while the layout of the rear shock absorber makes room for a larger luggage area.

All models feature Enhanced VSC. While most conventional Sport Utilities have Vehicle Stability Control [VSC] and Electronic Power Steering [EPS] operating independently of each other, Enhanced VSC integrates these functions. The result: smoother, crisper running, turning and stopping performance. The system now includes a VSC Off-Switch to turn either TRAC or VSC off for situations when full engine power is needed at all four wheels.

All models feature Active Torque 4-Wheel Drive with Manual 4-Wheel Lock Switch to aid in all-road capability no matter how wet or icy the conditions. An Electronically Controlled Coupling at the front and rear differentials controls torque between front and rear wheels. This enables RAV4 to switch continuously from Front Wheel Drive to 4-Wheel Drive depending on driving conditions - enhancing stability and improving fuel economy.

V6 models feature both Hill-Start Assist Control [HAC] and Downhill Assist Control [DAC]. Hill-Start Assist Control works to minimize back slippage when stopped on an uphill grade.

Downhill Assist Control helps to control the vehicle during steep descents. At speeds of 5-25 km/h, pressing the DAC button activates a series of sensors which monitor wheel speed and, in turn, automatically make any necessary adjustments. Stop means stop. That's why all models feature Front Ventilated Disc Brakes and Rear Disc Brakes backed up by the advanced technology of standard Antilock Braking System [ABS], Power Assisted Electronic Brake Force Distribution [EBD] and Brake Assist [BA].

Stay the course. All models feature Vehicle Stability Control [VSC], Traction Control [TRAC] and Active Torque Control 4-Wheel Drive Systems to aid in control under adverse conditions.

Standard on all models: Dual Stage Driver and Passenger Airbags, as well as Driver and Front Passenger Front Seat-Mounted Side Airbags, and Second-Row Roll-Sensing Side Curtain Airbags.

Hold your place. All seating positions feature 3-Point Lap and Shoulder Belts. Front Seats also boast Seatbelt Pre-Tensioners and Force Limiters.

In the event of a rear end collision, driver and front passenger Headrests automatically move up and forward to help reduce whiplash potential.
